Canada is the motherland of the hockey sport. Some Canadian students from Montreal brought the popular sport to the ice and set the main stone for the modern hockey sport. The sport gets popular in Europe .Ice hockey is the national sport in winter and the most popular sport in America. The most popular ice hockey league is the NHL (National Hockey League). The female ice hockey league is named National Woman's Hockey League (NWHL)
The Canadian ice hockey team is one of the best hockey teams in the whole world so ever at the female world cups. The team of mans has won 4 of 5 Canada cups, 7 gold medals at the Olympic Games and 24 times the world cup. After the world cup in the year 2005 they where on the first place in the IIHF- World list.
